Barinder Samra, MSc

Clinical Trainer - Barinder is a registered Clinical Scientist in Audiology, and completed his MSc in Audiological Sciences from the University of Southampton in 2009. He has extensive clinical experience in the assessment/fitting of hearing aids with both adult and paediatric patients, as well as diagnostic audio-vestibular testing. In addition, Barinder has worked for the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service, performing assessments of cochlear implant candidacy and device tuning for cochlear implant recipients. Barinder has recently started working for Oticon Medical as a Clinical Trainer, where he is primarily responsible for internal/external clinical training and support, for Bone Anchored Hearing Systems (BAHS).

Dave Gordey, AUD (C), Ph.D

Dave Gordey has been a paediatric audiologist for twenty-five years. He was an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia for eight years where he taught classroom amplification, and previously worked in a paediatric clinic and hospital in Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Dave’s current research projects include paediatric hearing aids, bimodal and bone conduction devices and children, unilateral hearing loss, and the social and emotional development of children with hearing loss. Dave is the director of clinical research and professional relations for Oticon A/S and lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Marlene Bagatto, Au.D., Ph.D

Marlene Bagatto is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the National Centre for Audiology at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. She is Past President of the Canadian Academy of Audiology and Chair of the Canadian Infant Hearing Task Force. Dr. Bagatto’s research interests relate to policy and practice integration in the area of pediatric audiology. She is a consultant for the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services’ Infant Hearing Program where protocol development, implementation, and monitoring for various components of the program are her main activities. Dr. Bagatto also provides clinical services to infants involved in the Ontario Infant Hearing Program at the H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic at Western.
